Cayambe Team

We consider ourselves privileged to be part of a diverse local ministry team.  The Cayambe team is the realization of the church in El Quinche's vision to plant churches in the canton of Cayambe.  As such, the team is an outreach ministry of the church in El Quinche.  As CrossWorld church-planters, we are working in partnership with the local church to help them realize their goals.  Our role in the team is to provide ministry experience, theological training, logistical aid, and a physical presence in Cayambe.  Our Ecuadorian partners provide cultural insight, national leadership, and a national presence.  The combination of our God-given gifts and abilities has proven to be a very successful combination in the church-planting ministry.  Each member of our team brings a unique skill set.  Please pray for us as we work together to fulfill the Great Commission in Cayambe:

Pablo Aguirre

Pablo is Dave’s Ecuadorian counterpart in the project.  He brings to the team much experience with kids clubs and youth groups, as well as a gift of evangelism.  He is the evangelist on our team.  His talents with the guitar, puppets, skits and other performance arts make him the ideal Ecuadorian missionary to partner with.  Pablo and his wife, Lourdes, are currently committed to work part-time in the project until they are able to transition into becoming full-time missionaries.

 Lourdes Herrera

Lourdes is a gifted teacher, especially towards children.  She shares the teaching responsibilities with Brenda in the kids clubs.  She has a passion to reach ladies as well and will play a key role in starting cell groups.

Elsa Jáuregui

Elsa brings a gift of helps to our team that has proven to be invaluable.  Together with her mother, Aida, she has shown her dedication to the project from the beginning.  She helps a great deal in the behind the scenes work of preparing refreshments and games each week. The relationship she has built with several of the local ladies has provided us the open door to extend the ministry to adults.

Aida Acosta

Aida’s giving spirit keeps us all on track.  She has sacrificed from the very beginning of this project to help make it the reality that it is today.   Her faithfulness and sacrificial giving are an essential part of the make-up of this team.

Estéfani Aguirre

Estéfani is a very gifted young lady who is a great help to our team.  She and Samantha provide a positive example and a presence of leadership among the children.  She’s also extremely talented in performing puppets and skits.  This young lady is quickly developing into a great servant of God.

Samantha Echeberría

Samantha demonstrates the characteristics of a young person that we hope all of the children in our clubs would emulate.  She is tremendous help in organizing and maintaining discipline during the entire club. She is a tremendous encourager and is very sensitive to the special needs of the little ones.

David Meyer

David provides the organizational skills and teaching that is needed to help the existing Ecuadorian team realize their vision of planting a church in Cayambe.  David brings resources and skills that are valuable in the teaching ministries and in the practical needs such as transportation, resources from the US and a representative from the team living in Cayambe itself. David and Pablo are focusing on reaching older youth and adults.

Brenda Meyer

Brenda’s gift for teaching has created a great compliment for Lourdes as they tag-team teaching the club.  She is also exercising her gift of hospitality as the Meyer home becomes home base for the Cayambe team. Her organizational skills are also always at work behind the scenes in preparing craft projects, song sheets and schedules.

CrossWorld Team

CrossWorld strongly believes in the team concept of missions.  Our team not only consists of our local ministry team, but we are also part of a larger CrossWorld field team.  The CrossWorld team works together to fulfill the three ministry focuses of CrossWorld: Upward, Inward, and Outward.  As a ministry our primary focus is upward, or worshipful.  Out of our worship of God flows our care for one another and our vision for reaching out.  Our inward focus is towards mutual care.  Mutual care comes in the form of mission gatherings, prayer times and accountability.  Finally, our outward focus is channeled through the mission as we plan strategy and, with the help of our Ecuadorian brothers, investigate new opportunities for church planting.

Home Team

CrossWorld believes that the field team will only be as strong as their home team.  Even the Apostle Paul did not strike out on his first missionary journey without the support and encouragement of the church at Antioch.  Without the prayer and financial support of the team at home, the field missionary is at a great disadvantage.  The importance of deep, meaningful prayer support is something CrossWorld will not overlook.  Time after time, missionaries have returned from the field with stories of answered prayer.  Prayer gives the home team an intimate and exciting role in the ministry.  Statistics show that the first term is a critical time for new missionaries on the field.  We need as many people on our prayer team as possible.  There is power in a God who answers prayer.  For our ministry to be effective, we cannot function without prayer. If you would like to join our prayer team and begin receiving regular updates by E-mail, you can click here to send us an E-mail to get started.

Just as prayer support plays an essential role in the effectiveness of the field team, financial support keeps the team in the field.  Paul set the example to us by refusing to accept money from those he was preaching to.  In order to do this, he had a network of faithful men and women who stood behind him prayerfully and financially.  We are excited about the team God is going to build in support of His work in Ecuador.   Perhaps God would have you become a partner with us in planting churches in the country of Ecuador.

See our Support Level Updates page for more information on becoming a part of our team.
